Dell to open new command center in Japan

Dell
Dell ECC

Dell Computers, the world's No.1 computer manufacturer, is to open a new Enterprise Command Center (ECC) in Japan later this year.

ECCs provide enterprise support on a local basis. They are staffed 24/7/365 and are expected to improve service response time and reduce customer down-time. In addition to the normal reactive service responses, ECCs also handle pro-active planning, tracking things such as typhoons or the effects of earthquakes, re-routing personnel and parts to deal with outages.

The Enterprise Command Center in Japan will be Dell's fourth center, with others in the US, China and Ireland.
