World's smallest fuel cell to change the portable world |
||
![]()
On Thursday, Toshiba announced that they had developed the world's smallest fuel cell, which has the potential to change forever the way we use portable devices. At only 22x56x4.5mm and only 8.5g, it can power a MP3 music player for up to 20 hours. Further more "recharging" is as simple as refilling a cigarette lighter. To get the fuel cell down to this size, the company had to develop a new method that enabled the fuel tank to be reduced to 10% of its normal size, without affecting running time. Toshiba envisions its use in music players, mobile phones and even wireless headsets for mobile phones. For more information you can visit the official Toshiba site |

This issue's featured site is our very own export-japan.com site. We have recently redesigned the site to make information easier to find and have added two new sections. We know how hard it can be to find information about Japan in English so we have added Japanese Information in English and Japanese News in English sections. Did you know that you can find info like the Latest Trade Fairs in Japan and Investment Opportunities to News by Industry and Organisations of the Japanese Government on our site? Some of this content is exclusive to export-japan.com while some was pain-stakingly searched out from the sometimes labyrinth-like Japanese language sites. If you haven't been to our site recently take a look and as usual we are happy to receive comments and suggestions. We are most interested in what kind of Japanese information you are looking for and what kind of information do you find the hardest to find. You can send your suggestions to me via the contact form and I will pass it on. |
