This is the first product in Japan to use image processing technology with a CCD (charge coupled device) line sensor camera to automatically count hatchery fry. Its efficiency compared to traditional hand counting allows high-speed tallying with a fourth of the workers, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Fish Counter as a counting device when transplanting or shipping fish, and contributes markedly to labor-saving and streamlining.
