When you enter President Hizume’s office, the collection of some 60 patent certificates framed on the wall is an awesome sight.
They testify to the success of Hizume’s vision.
Quitting his white collar job, he founded Takara Industry with the desire to develop unique items, focusing on plastic and metal molded products.
From leisure goods and building materials to leading-edge industrial equipment parts and materials, Takara Industry has handled more than ten thousand items.
It is an institution of ideas, promoting such unique products as the convenient Dry Wave lineup for drying fish, sash rollers for screens and braces as well as fun golf tees that change color in ultraviolet light.
As the company grew, rolling out new products one after the next, President Hizume began to feel constrained by production capacity. Four years after beginning trade with companies in China 1990, Takara Industry led the industry by building a factory in the Chinese province of Suzhou.
Completely financed internally, the plant offers cost benefits and the ease of operating under a Japanese style of management because no other parties are involved.
This also ensures customer satisfaction is met with Takara’s high quality standards.
In 1998, their second Suzhou plant was completed and they received ISO 9000 certification.
President Hizume says, “Always have an ace ready to play.” He is always looking ahead, considering production bases outside of China, looking for opportunity.
Great things are expected to come out of Takara Industry as leader of industry.
