Taisei Monac Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells farm machine parts, including lawnmower parts for a leading farm equipment manufacturer, and air conditioner parts. In 2001 the company entered the Chinese market, in 2003 in an M&A, it obtained all the shares in the industrial-use trial-production model manufacturer Monack, Co., Ltd., and in 2004 it carried out a capital increase. As these activities indicate, Taisei Monac is going from strength to strength as a prosperous enterprise.

In particular, the company’s vacuum-impregnated flexible shaft, which can be used without the need to periodically apply lubrication oil, has captured the top share of its market. In a marked contrast to conventional lubricant coating methods, in developing this product the company succeeded in coating each of the element wires that form the flexible shaft with a special lubricant through the use of an in-house developed vacuum impregnation device. This shaft is an epoch-making product that overcomes the conventional flexible joint’s biggest problem and eliminates the need to perform regular maintenance. The company has obtained patents in the United States and the European Union in respect of this technology, which has the advantage of allowing the product to operate without maintenance for an extended period.

Taisei Monac has set out its future direction as follows. “With the aim of being a company that can thrive in the international environment, we will proceed with the expansion of our factory in China while cultivating our human resources and completing the integration of Monack, which is currently a group company operating a different business. Through this, we will reinforce the overall business power of the Taisei Monac group while at the same time unflinchingly pursuing a radical development strategy.”
