NITCHI CO., LTD. was formed through a wartime merger in 1942 as Nippon Chain Block, made from four companies in the iron, casting and chain industries.
As market share spread, customers began referring to the company as “Nitchi,” after its product brand name, and that name was finally adopted as the official company name in 1971.
Japanese products excel in the world market for chain blocks, and while a number of Japanese companies are in the chain block business, Nitchi holds a dominant position in the industry.
The reason for Nitchi’s success has been its response to market needs, being the first in the industry to develop smaller, lighter manual chain blocks as well as electric models.
The trust customers place in Nitchi is also due to their continued focus on enhancing quality and safety, ever designing smaller and lighter, and even broadening their lineup such as to offer products for the home.
Nitchi also provides innovation, utilizing its engineering expertise to adapt existing equipment to new fields.
To ensure the customer’s point of view is given priority, Nitchi leverages its accumulated expertise in engineering, creativity and application to efficiently expand product development, meeting customer needs and expectations with added value.
President Sakakibara has a set policy of leading his team in providing the Nitchi brand not only in Japan but overseas markets as well, expanding beyond the current framework to reach out to more customers.
Applying their engineering expertise to existing products, they are innovating new products and breaking into new markets.
With an emphasis on quality assurance, Nitchi has obtained their ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications.
To promote progress and improvement, each employee applies the company motto of “effect change, be change” to their daily activities to meet the challenges of changes in the industry.
