Changing the workbench with the Lobster brand

Lobtex is a general tool manufacturer providing a wide range of products with the Lobster mark, aimed at everyone from high-end professionals to home users.

They got their start selling hair clippers in 1888. Forty years later, they were the first company in Japan to succeed at dropforging and went on to establish their solid position in the tool industry with the top market share for monkey wrenches. As Lobtex expanded into manufacturing, fastening and diamond tools as well as electrical hydraulic and pipe tools, the Lobster brand became a symbol of absolute dependability.

The new Air Riveter AR041 product line is the first riveter in the world to use a magnesium alloy in the main unit as well as components, thereby decreasing the weight by 30% compared to similar products. The use of magnesium is a revolutionary concept that will provide customers with a tool they will treasure forever. Lobtex has developed this new concept, fusing innovation and tradition for a uniquely designed product.

A new product planned for sale has been developed to allow riveting in difficult to reach places. Called the “Angle Riveter”, it is attached to the tip of the riveter, providing a wide range of angles and lengths. This will greatly extend the capabilities of your air riveter.

These developments have been part of a program at Lobtex to decrease tool weight and systematize their product lineup. As customer needs continue to be identified, Lobtex will continue on its mission to design new riveters, developing a new dimension in tools.

With its emphasis on customer service, Lobtex will further strengthen the Lobster brand, using the power of the high-quality image of Japanese products. As a part of those efforts, the Production Division will be consolidated with Tottori Lobster Tools, and the Higashi Osaka Main Plant will place the marketing as well as the R&D functions in a fabless plant. Accurately gauging market needs and cutting the cycle time from product development to market, Lobtex will continue developing its manufacturing system aimed at customer satisfaction.
